I am a cognitive designer who solves human problems through UX science, methods and applied practices. I design for how people think and how technology can support us.
I expand the value and importance of design for an organization and the user experience. I love developing a design and user centered culture and evolving it's adoption and maturity. I have extensive experience leading large and small scaled teams and designing digital solutions for high profile and monetary projects. In my career, I have worked alongside, coached and learned from some of the masters of the design, UX and CX industry.
I mentor, coach and develop an experience team. Skills can be taught, but attitude, passion and drive are everything! I lead by example and teach everyday there is something to learn and discover from our users and ultimately a problem to better solve both large or small. I train a team to focus on the user, understand their environment and relate to their experiences. I equip a team with knowledge and resources to flex their design muscle and be a valuable asset to an organization and resource that is leaned on for ideas and solutions. I help to embed the team into development and business processes where best fit.
I encourage and promote throughout an organization design thinking and how to best use it! I practice, educate and implement lean UX strategies. I measure and test design concepts and incremental UX changes through the means of surveys, multivariate or A/B split testing or direct user feedback. I look for and analyze data results revealed in that testing and research to leverage and confirm hypothesis and design direction.
I drive and lead the team to design and improve on those findings and discovered experiences, to challenge existing design artifacts when/where needed and make the user experience modern, accessible and desirable.
I coach all ideas are invaluable, needed and welcomed by the team. I promote human centered design to aid, guide and direct a teams goals, focus and solutions.
I teach UX design techniques and methods, and lead and mentor designers of all experience levels. I feel it's great to lead by example and am always excited to participate in design reviews and give guidance. I actively take part in design team collaboration, peer reviews and low and high fidelity prototypes.
I apply Design Operations as a framework for incorporating strategy, processes and tools for UX team growth.
To get to know someone and understand them and relate, try "Walking in their shoes!" I promote the importance of research, user journeys, empathy mapping and task analysis with users to present real product experiences to all invested stakeholders and team members. I dig for the stories and interactions and coach designers to best understand, feel, empathize for and analyze the needs/wants and behavior of the user. Where are the gaps in product needs and features? Have we identified pain points and difficulties to understand, perform and complete tasks? Can we make the compicated, simple? Are we accessible and inclusive and meeting all compliances? Where are opportunities to innovate and enhance the product with the business goals, mission and strategy of the organization?

Through design thinking and research I aim to determine and test if a feature request will benefit existing customers and attract new ones. Will it generate new sales and income for the organization and do the users value the experience?
